I. Project Background
Hanchuan Power Plant is located in Xinhe Industrial Park of Hanchuan Economic Development Zone, with gross generation of 3,200,000 KW; four generator sets of 1,200,000 KW had been input for more than 10 years in the first and second phases; a generator set of 2,000,000 KW was constructed at the end of 2009 in the third phase; currently, the first equipment of 1,000,000 KW of three phases is in installation and debugging. Just in the first and second phases, there are large amount of co-products, such as flue gas desulfurization gypsum of 250,000 tons per year, fly ash of 2,700,000 tons per year and hot steam of 1,500,000 m2 per year.
II. Market Analysis
Circular Economy Park of Hanchuan Economic Development Zone starts from Hongxi Canal, Chenguan, Huanchuan City on the west, closes to Dongxihu District of Wuhan City on the east, with the boundary of Hanbei River on the north and reaches Han River on the south, adopts east-west direction of Laohesa Road and Huocheng Road as its central axis to develop along both sides of the roads, where total planning area is 28 square kilometers. In which, the space of heat supply and waste recycling of Hanchuan Power Plant can be expended to the Fairy Hill Office and Chenhuang Town at the west of development zone and Dongxihu District of Wuhan City at the west and surrounding counties and cities.
III. Project Scale and Content
The planning is centered on the power plant to form high-utilization, low-energy and low-emission circular economy park within the radius of 5 km and sector region about 20 square kilometers by making use of electric energy, heat energy, fly ash and other construction supporting industry (enterprise) of wastes in Hanchuan Power Plant according to reaction type procedure of resource product-renewable resource.

Predicted total investment of the project is 1 billion yuan.

VI. Project Progress
Currently, parts of flue gas desulfurization gypsum, fly ash and steam have been used, which has considerable benefit.
VII. Benefit Prediction
There are flue gas desulfurization gypsum of 250,000 tons per year, fly ash of 2,700,000 tons per year and hot steam of 1,500,000 m2 per year. If the project resources can be fully used, the cost can be recovered in 3-5 years.
