Make the Voice of China-Russia Friendship Heard

—Sidelights of 2018 Chinese Filial Piety Culture Festival "HBCI Cup" Russian Culture Week

Once upon a time, the works of Pushkin, Leo Tolstoy and other masters in literature made generations of young people appreciate the vastness and profound depth of Russian culture.

Many classical songs such as Moscow Nights and Katyusha have awakened the shared memories of two nationalities about an era.

Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty are the world's enduring classic ballet.

Culture prosperity, soul communication and friendship forever are all because of communication.

On November 4th, a 3-day Russian Culture Week was ended.

A song of friendship praise written in cultural exchange has been echoed in the hearts of Chinese and Russian friends.

Look at the whirling beauty of Russian culture

From November 2nd to 4th, some famous Russian painters and ballet artists walked into Xiaogan. There were 145 oil paintings and 43 sets of royal porcelain, and many ballet master classes and painter's sketch classes were provided, which elaborately cooked a feast of Russian literature and art for students and citizens.

The Russian Culture Week was conducted coinciding with the weekend. Many citizens took their children to appreciate the oil paintings and porcelain in Hubei Engineering University.

On the morning of November 3rd, Luo Wenjun, a student of Grade Three, and his mother Ms. Jiang stopped at an oil painting entitled "Pink Morning" and appreciate it carefully.

Ms. Jiang told reporters that her son had learned two years of gouache. Two days ago, she knew that there would be a painting exhibition in Xiaogan from WeChat Moments. They were looking forward to it and arrived early on Saturday, “I hope my children can be influenced by some arts, which will be helpful for the learning of painting in the future”.

Accompanied by the melodious and bright accompaniment of Russian song Katyusha in the dance practice room of Hubei Engineering University, 20 students who major in dance welcomed Celusi Alexander, the heir of Russian ballet clan, the founder of fitness and ballet as well as the male leading actor of ballet in Mikhailovsky Theatre. It is reported that he is also a visiting artist of the Danish and Greek National Ballet Theatre, and he once performed in world-class theatres such as Japan, Korea and Germany.

After commanding everyone to stand ing good shape and finish warming up, an elegant ballet master class began. With a gentle music, the tip of the toe touched the floor gently, like a feather slowly falling; arms were extended, with neck up, like a swan dancing ……

It lasted for more than two hours, and there is no ending. In addition to the dozens of teachers and students watching in the side, there were a lot of parents and children after hearing the news. Xiaoyang, a junior student from School of Music, told reporters that, they mainly studied Chinese dance, and had only been in ballet for one year in their freshman year before. This ballet master class gave students a chance to have access to the original Russian ballet art, which was very rare.

The earnest of students at Hubei Engineering University also impressed Celusi Alexander. He said: "Students rarely have that kind of focus in Russia."

Appreciate the romantic charm in Chinese culture

On the morning of November 3rd, two ballet master classes came to an end. In return, 20 students majoring in dance successively performed sitting, standing and sign dances of Chinese classical dance for Celusi Alexander.

These dances are mainly used for training qi-using of the pubic region, which is quite different from the qi-using method and training method of ballet. It is said that some of the creative inspiration of Chinese dance originated from some animals such as cats and monkeys, and Celusi Alexander expressed novelty and interest in this.

On the other hand, three Russian painters, Antonina, Yamshikov·Victor and Moussaieff ·Moosa were also very busy. They came to Dong Yong Park and “painted” for Xiaogan with the “Xiao Gan Dong Tian” memorial archway in the park as the object from three angles separately.

Antonina graduated from Department of Painting of Repin Academy of Fine Arts, and received doctorate. Her works such as Autumn, Gentleman and other works were shown in this exhibition. She told reporters that she especially liked painting landscapes, and was looking forward to sketch out the natural scenery of Xiaogan.

Like Antonina, Moussaieff ·Moosa is also a realistic painter. When he was sketching that day, he not only delineated every sculpture and pattern of the memorial archway in detail, but also described the four words “Xiao Gan Dong Tian” vividly. After listening to the love story of Dong Yong and the Seventh Fairy introduced by a translator, he repeatedly praised "very romantic". For this purpose, he “placed” an ancient scholar dressed in long pale green gown under the memorial archway.

Different from other two painters, Yamshikov·Victor is an impressionist, Russian Federation meritorious artist and Honorary Fellow of Russian Art and Science Academy. He told reporters that Chinese architecture is very unique, very special, "for me, it is a new attempt."

Wish the profound friendship will last forever

Ceramic making has always been a traditional Chinese craft.

What surprised the public of Xiaogan was that Russian ceramics are also unique. During the Culture Week, 43 sets of royal porcelain appeared and attracted people to watch.

It is reported that Royal Ceramic Factory of Russia was built in 1744, 274 years ago. The bone China has the largest output in the world, with an annual output of more than 2 million pieces, exported to 26 countries. 60% of the products are completed by hand, and one product requires more than 80 processes.

Mr. Huang, who likes porcelain, is amazed at a white porcelain horse, “We Chinese like porcelain, and Chinese painters also like to paint horses. Unexpectedly, Russian friends share similar aesthetic feelings with us.”

Art is the best bridge.

At the closing ceremony on November 4th, Xiaogan presented a large red paper-cut work, the Chinese character “Fu”, to Russian friends. Russia gave a gift of the sketching works of painter Moussaieff ·Moosa “Xiao Gan Dong Tian” in return.

Moussaieff ·Moosa, who described Xiaogan as a warm sunshine, said that: “Russian Culture Week is a meaningful event. The two great nations have narrowed their distance through this activity.”
